in 1934, the Brown Deer Men’s Golf Club is comprised of over 200
amateurs who enjoy playing competitive golf and the camaraderie of
membership. Handicaps range from scratch to over 30. The club holds several handicapped, scratch, stroke play,
match play, individual and team competitions for its members each year
at Brown Deer Park Golf Course and other Milwaukee area courses. USGA
and local rules are followed.
Costs
for each event vary based on location and other factors (time of
year, food & drinks included, prizes, event format, etc.). Majors at Brown Deer are typically $65 to walk or $82 to ride including the chance to win multiple prizes (both gross and net). 2-3 events typically include lunch after golf with morning shotgun start (but suspended during COVID - tee times instead). If you are interested in playing competitive golf on weekends with avid golfers of all age and skill levels on Milwaukee's premiere public golf course, the Brown Deer Men's Golf Club is for you. We are welcoming returning and new members. Member Registration The Annual “Majors” All Season - The Brown Deer Player’s Cup Earn points throughout the year for participation and performance. The top 32 members play off at the end of the year during the “Wind-Up” for the low gross and low net players of the year. May - The Mixer 1-2-3 game with 4-man teams (assigned by the committee). Typically a morning shotgun start with lunch and Club meeting after golf (suspended during COVID...tee times instead). June - The Memorial Individual stableford (gross and net) with pairings by flights (+ mixed groups upon request). June - The Quota Classic 2-man teams earn points (modified Stableford, net) relative to a “quota” for their handicaps. July - The President’s Cup Individual stableford (gross and net) with pairings by flights (+ mixed groups upon request). Typically a morning shotgun start with lunch and Club meeting after golf (suspended during COVID...tee times instead). August - Bill Eckhardt 2-Man Best Ball 2-day, 2-man best ball. September - The Wind-Up Individual stroke play (low gross and low net) with pairings by flights (+ mixed groups upon request). Also, the “Players Cup” low net and low gross competitions for the top 32 members on the point list. Morning shotgun start. Other Events: Match play tournaments: “Club Championship”: 36-man bracket, scratch “Cup Matches”: 8 to 16-man brackets, flighted, net “2-Man Match Medal Tournament”: 64-team bracket, handicapped, net team score hole-by-hole Group play on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings - play as few or many events as you please: “Spring Tour”: On three Saturdays starting in mid-April at other area courses “Summer Tour”: Play for 48 members during the summer on seven Saturday/Sunday mornings at 8-9am at Brown Deer "Social Nights": 9-hole events for 24 members on select Wednesday evenings Inter-club matches (~ monthly): “Second Team”: Clubs in the County field teams of 12 members each for four matches and compete for a season-long point title. Matches are played at Brown Deer, Oakwood, Whitnall and Grant. For all golfers and handicapped.
