Greetings Brown Deer Men's Club.  It is that time of the year again for my outing at The Broadlands.  I have 7 t-times booked for Friday April 24th at The Broadlands. The t-times start at 9 am.  The cost will be $22 riding or walking.  $11for the Warnicke (teams) game, and $4 closest to the pin on all par  3's. A total of $37.
Please let me know at your earliest convenience if you would like to play.  I will need your hndcp when you contact me.  As in the past, the lowest hndcp will be the captains, for the picking of the teams.  I will notify those who are the Captains, and your t-time when the field is set.  I have to know if you are playing by Wednesday April 22nd

For more info about the Broadlands, visit their website at www.broadlandsgolfclub.com.  My weather prediction this April 24th, will be sunny and 75°. (-:

Handicap Policies and Procedures

posted Feb 28, 2015, 5:48 PM by Brian G

The Handicap Committee of our golf club is responsible for administering the USGA Handicap System, including the computation of each member’s Handicap Index.  The primary goal of the system and the Committee is to enable golfers of differing skill levels to compete on an equitable basis.

The Committee will verify that scores are properly posted for handicap purposes and peer review.  For Brown Deer Golf Club group events, the Committee will post all scores for the field.  If ever in doubt at an event, ask if your score will be posted or if you need to do so.

Members should be aware of the following policies and procedures:

Tournament Scores

Scores for rounds played during the following events should be posted as "Tournament Scores":
  • BDGC match play rounds (Cup Matches, Club Championship, 2-Man Match Medal)
  • 1st Team and 2nd Team competitions
  • BDGC majors
  • MCPLA, WPLA or other competitive events
USGA Handicap System
  • For additional information, see FAQ or the complete USGA Handicap Manual.
  • Try to make your best score on each hole at all times.
  • All "acceptable rounds" (see USGA Hcp Manual - Section 5), including 9-hole rounds, played during an active local season (April 1st to October 31st in Wisconsin; year-round in some clients) should be posted immediately using a computer at the course played, the WSGA web site or the WSGA app for iPhone / Android.
  • Apply Equitable Stroke Control ("ESC") to all posted scores:
  • For holes not completed, record your "most likely score." This score must not exceed your maximum number under ESC.  Most likely score is a judgment based on each player's own game. It consists of the number of strokes already taken plus, in your best judgment, the number of strokes needed to complete the hole from that position more than half the time.   For example, if a 12-foot putt is given, you should likely assume a 2-putt.
  • If you fail to start a hole, you should assume a score based on your course handicap and the assigned difficulty of the hole.  For example, a player with a course handicap of 24 should assume as score of 6 on a par-4 rated the #2 handicap hole.
  • If you play at least 13 holes, you should post an 18-hole score.
  • If you play 7 to 12 holes, you should post a 9-hole score.
  • Handicap Indexes of each member will be updated on the 1st and 15th of each month.
  • Five posted scores are required to establish a handicap for competitive purposes in the club.
  • Failure to post rounds may result in disciplinary action as determined by the Handicap Committee.
  • The Handicap Committee has the ultimate authority and obligation to adjust a Handicap Index if it feels necessary to do so.
Please direct any questions or concerns to our Handicap Chairman, Brian Grossman, at 414-704-0264 or brian.grossman@ymail.com.
